NEW ZEALAND TRIALS.
SIX AUCKLANDERS NOMINATED. Mr. Vinnio Meredith lias nominated the following half-dozen players for places in the North Island and intcr-island trial matches prior to the picking of the All Black team to tour Australia at the end ot next month: — Forwards.—W. Hadley (Marist), 11. F. McLean (Grafton), A. Knight (Grammar). Backs. —jr. Corner (Grammar), T. H. C. Caughey and 11. G. Bush (University). All except Hadley (North Island hooker last year) have previously represented the Dominion.
THE WAIKATO NOMINATIONS.
Waikato Union's nominations for the All Blacks, writes the "Star's" Morrinsvllle correspondent, are :—Forwards. A. O. Story, •T. I.oesou, T. Thompson ; backs. W. Allen, M. Da vies, A. .T. Aitken, D. Oliver. Since leaving King's College. Story lins played all bis football In the Wnikato and has never been left out of the representative team in six years. ITe is stated to have sold his farm at Whatawh.iin and to contemplate qualifying for an Auckland club team next month. T.eeson playe.l in tile North Island front row Inst season and created a good impression. Thomson is a rail, heavy forward of the virile type and was played in the Waikato s-cond row for some seasons. Allen war, formerly of Walkato before going to Dunedin. lie represented Otago and South Island last year. lie is a fast wing, but ma played at centre. Morrie Dnvies formerly represented Auckland at full-back. Aitken is a brilliant centre three-quarter who is expected to be outstanding with a little more experience. Oliver, formerly of Wellington, played in two Test niniches against the British team.
