MISSING.

Believed Escape of N.Z. Teacher In Japan. MR. BICKERTON "WANTED." TOKYO, June 18. The New Zealander, Mr. W. M. Bickerton, is missing and is believed to have escaped from his ship. The police are seeking for him, but there is reason to suppose that his cscape was winked at. A London cablegram dated June 11 stated that Mr. Bickerton, who was teaching in the Tokyo High School, but had been in custody since March 13 last on charges of alleged Communistic activities, for which he was committed for trial, left Japan by the Empress of Japan, bound for "Vancouver. The Foreign Office was arranging for his landing, and friends in London had guaranteed his passage to England.
