HARBOUR PIPELINE.

Two defects were discovered in ,tlie harbour pipeline laid to supply Birkenhead with water from the city. One of these was repaired on Saturday,, and everything was in readiness yesterday to 'repair the second leak, but on account of the bad weather operations had to be postponed. The waterworks engineer, Mr. A. D. Mead, stated this morning that on several occasions the weather had prevented important work being done on the pipeline. He hoped to have the • defect in the pipe remedied as soon as j weather conditions permitted.
