CONFIDENCE IN COUNCIL. (By Telegrapli.—Press Association.) TAIHAPE, Monday. A meeting of ratepayers lield at Tailiapc to-night received details and reports regarding the recent collapse of the new-municipal reservoir. The findings of the inspecting engineer, Mr. R. Worlev, of Hamilton, as to the cause of the collapse, together with a report by the Mayor as to the events), leading up to the decision to construct the reservoir, were read, and a resolution was carried 011 the voices exonerating the borough engineer, and expressing confidence in the Borough Council. An amendment to the effect that the meeting had no confidence in the present council was lost.
