CARNERA'S CARES.
Ex-Champion Laid Up With Ankle Injury. LEGAL ACTIONS PENDING. (Received lil a.m.) NEW YORK, June 17. Primo Camera is confined to hospital with, a fractured right ankle. The receipts from his title bout with Max Baer totalled 417,000 dollars (£83,400). Camera will receive. about 135,000 dollars { £27,000) and Baer 45,000 dollars ( £9000). It is understood that most of Camera's share is tied up in several legal actions. Ever eince the world's heavy-weight boxing title became associated with big money, the winning of it has been the signal for "legal" efforts to get in on the winnings. Dempsey had his troubles of the kind, Tunney was made the mark for a similar shot immediately he became champion, Max Schmeling had similar complications, and Camera has been haunted by claimants through the process of the law for portions of hie winnings. Jacl Sharkey, under the auspices of the Madison Square Garden, was untroubled i:. this respect during his brief reign, anMax Baer has at least started his chair pionship career free.
