JOURNALIST RETIRES.

SUB-EDITOR OF THE "TABLET"

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DUXEDIN, this day. Mr. J. J. Wilson, for IS years subeditor of the "New Zealand Tablet," and acting-editor at intervals during that period, is retiring from service on that journal. .Mr. Wilson entered the service of the "Tablet" company as literary representative of its papers in Christchurch, continuing in that capacity during the late Bishop (then Dr.) Cleary's lengthy term of office, and that of his successor, Mr. J. A. Scott, MA. When in 1910 Dr. Kelly was appointed editor of the "Tablet" Mr. Wilson was brought to Dunedin as sub-editor. Possessed of keenness for research, which was greatly fostered by the late Bishop Cleary, Mr. Wilson published two volumes on the early history of the Catholic Church in New Zealand, and he has several other volumes ready for publication.
