GIFT MILK.

The recent gift of one thousand gallons of milk for the school children of Auckland will be the means of "tempering the wind to these shorn lambs," ancl I am sure we are all grateful to one who realises the need for this nourishment. As one who is a firm believer in preventing rather than curing or relieving, I feel that it would have been far better, tor those whom the "tempered wind" will reach, and those who will not benefit, if the poor little lambs had never been shorn. AEOULUS.
