GRAFTON V. GRAMMAR. BIG MATCH AT EDEN PARK. NORTH SHORE IN CURTAIN-RAISER. With only three more Saturdays to go before the end of the first round of the Auckland Rugby Football Union's senior competition, interest is quickening in view of the relegation of the three bottom teams to the B division a month hence (leaving six to carry on next round). Up to the end of last week's games the championship points were: —Grafton and Manukau Rovers, 8; Technical Old Boys, College Rifles, Ponsonby and Otahulm, 6; Grammar Schools' Old Boys, 4; Marist Old Boys and 'Varsity, 2. Teams who have not yet had their bye are: —Technical (to-mor-row), Rifles and Manukau. Pride of place this Saturday has been given to the Grammar-Grafton contest, 'lite latter club has been defeated once only. The curtain-raiser at No. 1 Eden Park will be provided by North Shore and the Edenites, the two leading senior B fifteens. Another major division fixture has been arranged for headquarters, for 'Varsity and the Rillos are to play oil No. 2 Eden Park at three o'clock. The two "outside" engagements are:— Otahulm v. at Showgrounds, and Manukau v. Marist. at Onehunga, both at 3 p.m. Wilfrid Hassan, the former New Zealand League half-back will play for Marist.
