BAND FOR MANUREWA.

ORGANISATION BEGUN. A meeting held in Manurewa this week of local townspeople, business men, exbandsmen, and a representative of the Manurewa Town Board, decided to organise a town band. Mr. F. S. Pegler, convener, produced a list of 10 players. An interim chairman and secretary were appointed, and it was decided to launch a campaign for the purpose of procuring band instruments. Enthusiasm was evinced by all present, and a band for Manurewa seems to be well assured. Mr. Sutton, a representative from Pukekolie Band, was present, and gave some advice which was much appreciated. . Mr. J. Edwards was elected chairman of the band committee, and Mr. R. Edwards, jun., secretary.
