ALLEGED FALSE PRETENCE

Arrested yesterday afternoon, Jock Rimmer, aged 25, a labourer, appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., fix the Police Court this morning. It was alleged against Rimmer that on May 1, with intent to defraud, he obtained from Neil McKay Gallaugher provisions valued at £1 19/8 by falsely representing that he had been instructed by Hayes and Caveye, contractors, of Kawau, to order the provisions on their behalf. On the application of Senior Detective Hall accused was remanded until June 6.
