VALUES REMAIN FIRM. With the exception of the banking section, which .-till shows a weakening tendency, values on the Auckland Stock Exchange continue very firm. At this morning's cull bidding was steady on the basis of late quotations.^ (iovernment Ftocks were nsked for in .ill issues, but there were few sellers. Commercial Banks eased, with highest bidders at ISC. and for Australasias buyers stopped at ill 12/6. Farmers' Auctioneering shares were in keen demand, with buyers for all issues at full late rates. New Zealand Breweries were steady between £2 4/ and £2 5/. Tho Noon Call. At Hie noon call buyers for Pukemiro Collieries came forward with an offer ot £1 5/6, sellers asking 2/ higher. ..New Zealand j'.reweries improved, and alter .1 sale 3d higher, at £2 4/6, buyers were still in at the previous sale price. Pending the opening of the new loan trading in Commonwealth bonds fell to a_ minimum, but there was the usual activity in gold eh ares.
