NATIOITAIi MEETING HERB. DOMINION RECORDS PASSED. Mr. R. M. Sheffield presided last night at a meeting of the Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Swimming Association, when advice was received from the". Dominion Council that control of the 1935 national championships had been delegated to the Aucklanders. , , ■ , The New Zealand Council advised that the following Dominion records had been passed:— - Men. —100 metres, 1.1 1-5; 220 yards, 2.22; 400 metres, 5.11 1-5, Noel- Crump; 60 yards, 23 l-ss, Walter Jarvis (Otago). Ladies. —200 metres, 2.45 4-5 ; 440 yards, 5.64 3-5, Mona Leydon; 100 metres breaststroke, 1.33 1-5; 220 yards breaststroke, 3.23 3-5, Judith Webster. Intermediate Boys.—Bßo yards, 11.14 4-5, Walden Johnson. «»..«- Intermediate Girls. —100 yards, 65 l-ss, Junior Girls.—so yards, 29 4-ss, Margery Black; 50 yards breaststroke, 40 2-OS, C. Lynch (Invercargill). _._ .. , Reference was made to the difficulty of raising money for paying the expenses of swimmers representing the Dominion at overseas meetings. It was decided that, providing the New Zealand 1 Amateur Swimming Association does not restore the overseas representation fund suspended last year, the centre should create its own overseas representation fund. This fund would be supported by a levy upon each affiliated senior swimmer. On -Mr. J. J. Enwright s suggestion it also was decided that clubs outside the Auckland Centre's territory inviting prominent Auckland swimmers to compete at carnivals should be asked to contribute to the centre's representation fund, if it is Instituted, before their applications to arrange appearances by tho swimmers are granted. Replying to the centre's request for a ruling, the New Zealand Council advised that the well-known wrestling referee, Mr. Easwell Sidford, was definitely an amateur Swimmer.
