I The history of draughts does not go back further than the invention of printing, and is first described in Spanish authors of the sixteenth century. Board games were played in ancient Greece. Rome and Egypt. Thform of English draughts was fixed in 1800 by Joshua Sturges. .The name is taken from the play in chess, in which moves were called "draughts. In Scotland the game of draughts is called "dambrod."
