MORE THAN A CZAR.

De Yalera's Power After Senate Is Abolished. STATEMENT IN DAIL. DUBLIN, May 2. In the Dail Mr. W. T. Cosgrave moved an amendment to the Senate Abolition Bill to make a three-fifths majority vote of the Dail necessary for the removal of any member of the judiciary. Mr. O. Higgins said that failing such a precaution the wobbling will of one man would rule the entire country and his vindictiveness would decide everyone's destiny. Mr. Fitzgerald said that if the bill were enacted it would give Mr. de Valera more power than a Czar or any European Government, and would obviate the necessity of his ever again facing the electors.

Mr. cle Valera applied the closure, and the amendment was defeated by 58 votes to 42.
