TREK TO TIBET.
DALAI LAMA OBSEQUIES. CALCUTTA, April 16. Seven Tibetan lamas have arrived at Calcutta from Nanking. They are proceeding to Tibet to offer prayers in three large monasteries and to distribute money on behalr of the Chinese Government in connection with the ccrcmonics for the late l)alai Lama.
It is disclosed that Kumpliel, the confidential servant of the Dalai Lama, met vith a terrible death for concealing his master's illness and preventing the pontiff's relations and high dignitaries from gaining access to the Dalai Lama's apartment. Kumpliel was executed, the body being sewn in a sack and thrown into a river.
