CRICKET.
A FALSE ALARM. LARWOOD DOES NOT BOWL. LONDON, April 16. Looking wonderfully fit, Harold Larwood reported at Trent Bridge, the Nottinghamshire County Cricket ground, but he did not don flannels, presumably because the turf was too soft and would not test his bowling. Hundreds of would-be spectators sought admission to the ground, but only pressmen were allowed to enter. Larwood declared that his foot feels well and no longer aches, as before the operation on it.
