, SINGAPORE TO AUSTRALIA. ' NO EXTENSION THIS YEAR. • (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ! WELLINGTON, Monday. According to advice received by the [ acting-Director-General of the Post and ' Telegraph Department, Mr. J. Robertson, ' little hope is entertained by the Aus- ! tralian postal authorities of the present >; weekly air mail service from England to 1 1 Singaporo being extended to Australia ■ much before the end of the current year. 1 New Zealand is vitally interested in this extension, for the Government has agreed to subsidise the completed service to the extent of £5000. Three-fifths of this sum will be paid to tie British Government and two-fifths to the Aus-J 1 tralian Government.
