WORTHY QUEEN. Sensational Performance — Walla Walla Fails. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CriRISTGHUROH, this day. Walla Walla failed in his attempt to break liis mile record of 2.2 2-5 to-day at Addington in the presence of a big crowd. He took 2.3 4-.->. Worthy Queen easily broke the New Zealand trotting record_ for a mile of 2.9. Her time was 2.2 3-5 —a sensational performance. The old record of 2.9 was held by Todd Lonzia. Auburn Lad Creates New Figures. Auburn Lad, assisted t>v the hurdler Advance Camp, paced a mile in 2.2 2-5. This is a new record for New Zealand, and equals the Australian and New Zealand record created by Walla Walla at Harold Park, Sydney. Auburn Lad is the travelling companion of Walla Walla. Worthy Queen i« a six-year-old mare by Worthy Bingen —Queen Chimes, and is owned and trained at Addington by the ex-Auckland trainer, J. S. Shaw. At tho recent Metropolitan meeting at Christchureh she won the High-class Trotters' Handicap, one mile and a half, in 3.14 1-5 —claimed to be a world's record for a trotter.
