LEGAL POSSESSION.

AN AUSTRALIAN DECISION. (Received 2 p.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The Full Court, in a majority decision, held that a company could "knowingly" have in its possession opossum skins in contravention of the Animals Protection Act. Thus the Court upheld the Crown's appeal against the decision of a magistrate in October last. He dismissed an information against Riley and Newman, Limited, wool merchants, whose, counsel contended that a firm, composed of many units, could not be conscious of possession and if the prosecution succeeded, the minority of the members who opposed certain action would be held liable if that action infringed the law.
