SHATTERED BY STORM.

Cement Patches on Danish Motor Vessel. HURRICANE IN ATLANTIC. (Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The Danish motor ship Columbia arrived in port with her hull patched with cement in several places, where plates had sprung by a terrific gale in the North Atlantic. The vessel came from Copenhagen via the Cape, ran into a storm in February, and for five days was practically unable to make headway. Mountainous seas pounded on the deck, and it was impossible to maintain a set course. The cement patches were fitted at Dakar, West Africa.
