CLUBHOUSE DANCE.

The Takapuna Boating ClubJicld its initial dance of the season in trie clubhouse, Bayswater, last evening, which was attended by a large number of members and friends. It is proposed to hold a series of theso gatherings throughout the year so that the social life of the club as well as the sporting programme can bo maintained. The latest danea numbers were supplied by the Pirate Sliippe orchestra, and supper was served downstairs on decorated tables arranged with gold and pink blooms. The ladies' committee who assisted in the success of the evening wore:' Mrs. A. Braund, in a frock of dark blue crepe faille; Mrs. J. Deacon, royal blue and beige crepe do chine; Mrs. W. Verran, nautical v blue and white souple satin; Mrs, C. Kirkham, flowered satin crepe; Mrs. H. H. Bach, black ninon; Mrs. J. Williamson, ■ Lido blue flowered crepe; Mrs. E. Inkster, jade green and blue georgette; Mrs. M. Connelly, pomegranate red angel skin lace; Miss D. Lewis, cerise pique satin; Miss Joy Verran, brown and white checked gingham with cprise corsage; Miss Little, black geor» getto. Among those present were: Mrs. G. Thomas, ivory crepe fleuri; Mrs. Rambaud, pastel pink georgette; Mrs. J. Lawrence, tango satin with shoulder spray to tone; Mrs. Boyd, ice white chiffon; Mrs. Pow, floral crepe de chine; Mrs. J. McLcod, Riviera blue triple ninon; Mrs. Woodward, blue and white leaf-patterned georgette; Mrs. C. Harrison, poppy patterned blue and white georgette; Mrs. Wade, hois de rose georgette; Miss Powell, white georgette; Miss Waddell, delphinium blue floral georgette; Miss Thomas, red checked gingham; Miss Rambaud, yellow and whito organdie.

■A street stall: for/tha sale of produce, flowers and other goods, the proceeds to be in aid of the Rotorua Plunket Society, was held in Tutanekai Street on Saturday.
