POLITICAL UNITY.
AUSTRALIAN PARTIES. Little Hope of U.A.P. aitd Country Party Agreeing. STATE MINISTERS' AMBITIONS. (United P.A.—Elcctric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The "Sydney Morning Herald" says little hope is now entertained of unity being achieved between the United Australia party and the United Country party in the Federal sphere before the next elections. A factor in the Federal outlook is the rival political ambitions of Mr. B. S. Stevens, Premier of New South Wales, and Mr. R. G. Menzies, Victorian Attorney-General. Both, it is stated, desire to enter the Federal Parliament. Both would have strong claims for leadership if Mr. J. A. Lyons, Prime Minister, decided at any time to retire.
