AS CRIMINALS.

MUNITION MAKERS.

American Industry Denounced By Senator Borah. STATE CONTROL NEEDED. [United F.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright) WASHINGTON, March 6. During a debate in the Senate on the Naval Bill, Mr. W. E. Borah (Republican), who was chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee under Mr. Hoover, attacked the world's munitions industries, particularly that of America. Mr. Borah said tlie American industry was spreading war propaganda in Japan, where it was being declared that the recognition of the Soviet by the United States was a hostile act to Japan. He denounced munition makers as "international criminals who would sell implements of war to kill their own nationals."

Senator W. E. Borah.

Mr. Borah added: "1 do not believe munition manufacturers can bring about war with Japan, but if they should the world will witness our soldiers being shot down with munitions made by people of their own country. Complete Government control of production is the only solution of the problem."
