REPAIRING DAMAGE.
Reconstruction Following Indian 'Quake. GOVERNMENT SCHEMES. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 6. The Secretary of State for India, Sir Samuel Hoare, was questioned in the House of Commons about the reconstructive works made nccessary by the recent earthquake in India. He said a comprehensive plan had been worked out by the Governments of India and Bihar in consultation covering the reconstruction of Government buildings, financial assistance to local authorities and relief to private sufferers. A special commissioner had been appointed by the Bihar Government and with the financial assistance given from the central revenues Sir Samuel said he had no doubt the work of reconstruction would be vigorously taken up.
