BRITISH POST OFFICE.
Administrative Machinery Reformed. BUSINESS FOOTING. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 6. Sir Ernest Bennett, Assistant Post-master-General, in a speech at Bugby, referred to the changes about to take place in the administrative machinery of the Post Office. He said that at the end of this month it "would enter on a new stage of its financial development in accordance "with the recommendations of the Bridgeman Committee.

Hitherto the revenue earned by the Post Office had been handed over to the Exchequer. In future a definite sum of £10,750,000 a year would be contributed to the national revenue and any surplus would be retained by the Post Office and expended for the benefit of the public generally on the development of services or a reduction of charges. Sir Ernest said the scheme '■was experimental, but it had every prospect of proving an outstanding succcss.
