BUSINESS KEEFS UP.
THIS MORNING'S TURNOVER. Business on the local Stock Exchange is ■well maintained, and at this mornings call A good list of sales was put through. Fresh bidding disclosed a healthy tone, with few important changes in valuations. Banks and insurances led off with a good denisnd, and this was repeated in the other sections. , . . Amongst Australian securities Colonial Sugars were firm, and buyers raised thenoffers to £64. with sellers asking W more. Dominion Fertilisers improved, and had buyers at 17/. Xew Zealand Newspapers were a little easier, and after a sale yesterday aiterbooii at £1 9/9 more were on oiler this morning at that figure. , , , Waihi shares were steady, but buyers for Junctions dropped out. The Noon Call. The market maintained its healthy tone at the noon call, though the actual volume of business was not as great as this morning. . , „ In the banking section buyers for Commercials are willing, to give 2d more than this morning, the figure now being Ib/ii. Buyers are only Id ahead. Insurances are hardening s.ightly, buyers in three cases, National, south British and New Zealand, having advanced. New Zealands are up 3d, pouth British 6d, while buyers for Nationals are willing to give the same figure as the last sale, 18/6. Though a buyer came forward at the quotation at which this morning holders were willing to Quit, £• 1 10/9, no business was done in New Zealand. Breweiies. Sellers drew back to £2 0/3. Government 4 per ccnt bonds are piling a little, the rise averaging about 10/. s
