LAWN TENNIS.
CHARLIE ANGAS IN SYDNEY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Canterbury and New Zealand lawn tennis lias suffered a loss, temporarily at least, through the acceptance by C. Angas of a commercial appointment in Sydney. Angas, who was New Zealand champion in 1020 and 3931, went to Australia and took part in the Australian championships. Advice has been received by his father that he was not likely to return to New Zealand for at least a year. He is now employed by a Sydney firm distributing in New South Wales a popular Australianmade racquet. CAMBRIDGE CHAMPIONS. By defeating Trinity B, Horahora became the championship team of the Cambridge Sub-association for 1934. Horahora won 10 rubbers (116 games) and Trinity 61 rubbers (95 games). PIAKO CHAMPIONS. The deciding match of the Piako SubAssociation's A grade competition resulted in Tatuanui defeating Springdnle by 8 rubbers fS9 games) to 5 rubbers (73 games). This win placed Tatuanui ahead on points, with only one match lost during the season. In the Piako Association's B grade competition there is a tie in the western section, with Tatuanui and Te Puninga level in championship points. A play-off will he necessary, the winner to play the winner of the pastern section.
