HORSES AT CAMBRIDGE

CORONIS AND GAY SISTER. ST. WARRIGAL RETURNS. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CAMBRIDGE, Tuesday. Horses engaged at Te Rapa. on Thursday were seen in action this morning. The first out were the stable mates from Mr. Otway's team, Gay Sister (Jarvis) and Coronis (W. Reed), who covered half a mile in 51s. Gay Sister has only recently returned to Mr. Otway's stable and is galloping attractively, though she may need a race. Coronis did not appear to be fully extended, and was beaten by half a length by Gay Sister. Englishman (T. Green) and Prolyxo (Jarvis) were sent over six furlongs, run in 1.17. Prolyxo appears to be running to form and should not be long off the winning list. Englishman did not perform quite up to standard, running badly at the turn into the straight. However, the Little England—Shellshock gelding can be expected to do better in the class of field he is meeting 011 Thursday. Bo ok law was restricted to slowwork on the flat, and is a doubtful starter

in the hurdles if the going is on the haul side. St. Warrigal, who has been nominated for the McGuire Steeplechase at L'aeroa, worked freely over three circuits of the course. He broke down after winning the Waikato Hunt Steeplechase last October, but appears to be all right agaiu.
