HAMILTON DAHLIAS.

HAMILTON, Tuesday
The Hamilton Horticultural Society's dahlia show was held to-day. The entries were large and the competition keen. Eight district courts were arranged by the Women's Institutes, and each formed an attractive exhibit. The winning place was awarded to Fairfield, with Gordonton second and Taupiri third.
Mr. M. H. Hammond, of Hamilton, eecured two of the championship awards with his "Daily Mail" and "Balligos Glory" in the giant and decorative dahlia classes, and Mrs. E. A. Cox and Mr. A. W. Ward, of Hamilton, won the championships in the hybrid cactus and cactus sections. The Hamilton Dahlia Cup was won by Mr. S. Danby, of Thames.
Mr. A. J. Shailcr, of Palmerston North, who judged the exhibits, said the display yrsL& ox an unusually high standard.
