SINKING FUND PAYMENTS.

POOLING METHOD UNWISE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. In the Supreme Court to-day Mr. Justice MacGregor decided against the Public Trustee and in favour of the holders of Thames Borough debentures, in regard to the difference of opinion as to the method to be adopted in the repayment of sinking funds. His Honor said it was clear tha£ if he adopted a pooling method the result would be startling and very unwise. In some cases he thought the instalments that had been raised were distinct loans, and for that reason he adopted an individual system in preference to the pooling method. Pooling would work injustice, and the individual method would not.
