PENSIONS FOR FIREMEN.
DOMINION SCHEME URGED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Tuesday. The annual conference of the United Fire Brigades' Association of New Zealand was continued to-day. The support of the association to a proposal to institute a superannuation scheme was sought by a remit from the Wellington brigade. It was also suggested that the executive should consider the question and send a deputation to the Minister of Internal Affairs. The chairman, Mr. A. Boon, stated that ihe executive intended to discuss this question. The following papers were read:— "Where Water Should Be Used With Care," Mr. C. W. Tyler, Rangiora: "First Aid to Injured Men at a Fire," Mr. S. Hague, Hamilton; "Static Electricity Generated in Industrial Processes," Mr. A. A. Morrison, Hawera: "fietting to a Fire and Operating at a Fire, and Salvage Duty," Mr. A. Boon, New Plymouth. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr. J. B. Wilson (Milton); vice-presidents, Mr. H. E. Folia* (Devonport) and Mr. J. .J. Mcintosh (Hikutaia); treasurer, Mr. C. A. Osborne (Onehunga); secretary, Mr. T. J. Watts (Newmarket).
