LEFT-HAND RULE ON PAVEMENTS.

An Aucklander myself, I have just read of a Franeonian passenger criticising our Wellington cousins for their failure to respect their left-hand rule on (he pavements, a criticism 1 cannot agree with. Having just concluded a seven-day visit, to the capital city, instead of one, and explored the city thoroughly on foot, I can say 1 was surprised at the case with which I was able to progress. This, in spite of my total deafness and a. blind right eye —aiflietions not visible to the average observer. 11. W.E.
