Fire caused slight damage to the eaves of a house at 5, Ilakton Road, Mount Albert, owned by Mr. J. Spedding and occupied by Mrs. L. Cahill, shortly before mid-day to-day. The Mount Albert and Avondale lire brigades answered the call, which was received at 11.10 a.m., and had no difficulty in suppressing the outbreak, which was apparently caused by sparks from the washhousc chimney.
