The Remuera branch of tlie W.C'.T.U. J held its first meeting' this year last | Tuesday in the Methodist Hall, Vincent'] Avenue. Mrs. Hugh Kasper presided. Arrangements were made for the forthcoming convention to be helrl in Wel< lington in March. The guest of honour, Miss Susie Pyle, of Honolulu, was welcomed by the president, and brought greetings from the Honolulu W.C.T.U. and from Mrs. Lee Cowie. She described the beauties of Hawaii and stated that there was a Bible training school, where young people were trained on a fnnda-; mental basis for Christian work. Sister Grace rendered a solo. Mrs. Percy Winstone accompanying at the pin no. Mrs. Bead, of the Ponsonby branch, gave a recitation. A paper on "Frances Willard" was read. Mrs. Noble and Miss Bond acted as hostesses.
