AT TAKANINI.

THIS MORNING'S WORK. There was not a great deal doing at Takanini this morning. The middle grass track, 011 which the poles were 20ft out, was available, and it was very fast. Lifeguard was four lengths in front of Express at the end of half a mile in 51s. Model Girl and ■ the Unit}' filly covered three furlongs in 37 2-ss, the former pleasing most. Speedmint, after going slowly over the first furlong, completed a mile in 1.48 3-5, being assisted over the last half mile by Sir Val in 535, the pair finishing together. Gay Blonde jumped away a couple of lengths in front of Gay Sheila at the five-furlong post, the pair finishing together in 1.3 1-5.

HORSES FOR TE AROHA. The following horses left Ellerslie by train this morning for Te Aroha: Solomon, Darma, Yelociter, Chief Cook, Brown Lap, and Supreme Ruler. Court ha ven, Glenromney, and Royal Appellant are due to leave this afternoon, and Master Brierly leaves tomorrow, and probably King Musk will also be taken at the same time. Expectancy, Gold Pocket, Exaggeration, Bellkyrian, and Thespis left Takanini this morning for Te Aroha, and E. Pope will leave with Gay Blonde, Gay Sheila, Speedmint, and The Hiker tomorrow afternoon. —
