" A conference of delegates from- centres affiliated to the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held on Sunday. The Otago delegates moved:—"That the constitution be altered eo that ih» present

period of three months' domicile in a centre as required by the rules be increased to six months." Watt, of Wellington, the quarter-mile champion, was among others who would have been affected by the change. It was pointed out that Watt, who was attending Otago University, had competed in that centre before coming home to Wellington for the summer recess. The proposed alteration would place the position of such athletes beyond doubt. The motion was rejected, only the Otago delegates supporting it.
