CHURCH PROTEST.
Roman Catholic Priests to Pay Bachelor Tax. CATALONIA ORDER. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, February 14. "The Times" Barcelona correspondent says that all the Roman Catholic priests in Catalonia are to be subjected to the bachelor tax, despite a protest from the Vicar-General of Tarragona that the penalty should not be imposed on those vowed to celibacy., especially as priests. The remainder of Spain is exempt.
