SHIPPING SUBSIDIES.
I would suggest that the ICew Zealand and Australian Governments tax all passenger tickets issued by companies to British subjects for travel on foreign steamers to the extent of from 23 to 50 per cent stamp tax, and so encourage travellers to book by Empire steamers and thus help to build up our intercolonial and Vancouver services. FAIR PLAY.
