PAPAKURA CHAMBER.

The eighth annual meeting of the Papakura Chamber of Commerce was held last evening. Mr. F. G. Lound presided. The auditor's report showed a small debit balance, and outstanding subscriptions of about £9. The secretary, Mr: G. F. McDonald, in a comprehensive report, reviewed the chamber's position, and suggested several economies. The report showed a membership of 34. The chamber had interested itself in bureau calls after 3 p m.. 6tamp-vending machines, bus serrices to Papakura, sugar beet industry, development of idle lands, etc. Owing to the difficulty of securing a president for the ensuing year, the election of | officers was left over till- the. March meeting.
