. .Queen . Victoria. opened the Royal Exchange, familiar to Londoners, 011 October 28, 1844. It cost £180,000, and took two years to build. It is the third Exchange. The first, known as Gresham's Burse, was erected in Cornhill.in lotiti-UT. Queen Elizabeth gave it the name of the Royal Exchange. Fire destroyed the building in 3 666, and the second Exchange was also burned down.
