THE INTEREST RATE.
FURTHER REDUCTION SOUGHT

WELLINGTON, this day,
At a meeting of the executive of the Farmers' Union this morning a further reduction in the interest rate was proposed. The following remit from North Taranaki was adopted: "That this executive is of the opinion that it is urgently necessary, in the national - interests, that interest rates be substantiallv reduced, and so give the people of this Dominion greater security of tenure, reduce the costs of living and the costs of production, and assist in the rehabilitation of the country."
