WORK AT RICCARTON ROCKET'S GOOD EFFORT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. ; Overhead conditions were good for training at Riccarton this morning. Heavy rain overnight gave the tracks a soaking, but the outside of the course proper provided sound going. Liege Lord ran half a mile in 52 3-ss. Cleaner, with Red Dance over the last six furlongs, ran seven easily in 1.36. Cricket Bat beat Shatter, who began slowly, over a mile in 1.44. Meprisanfc covered seven furlongs in 1.30. Guarantee ran half a mile in 50 3-ss. High Rank and Wild Sky traversed seven furlongs comfortably in 1.35 2-5. Heather Glow, after getting the advantage of the jump out, beat Copyist over seven 'furlongs in 1.32. Nightly and Custodian went well over five furlongs, taking 1.4. Dollar Prince took 1.33 for seven furlongs, after going fast over the early part. Tumieller ran half a mile in 51 2-ss. The Masquerader beat Tout le Mond narrowly, with Doiran four lengths away, at the end of six furlongs in 1.19. King March and Kamo broke away at the mile post, several lengths in front of Rocket, who finished a neck behind King March, with Ramo half a length back. The mile was done in 1.43 4-5. Rocket's effort looked specially good. Imperial Spear and Sibella ran six furlongs in 1.19 2-5. Silver Ring covered half a mile easily in 53 2-ss, Grand Review taking 52 2-ss. Xiggerhead and Courtyard got to the end of seven furlongs in 1.34 2-5. Rational 11. and Gavspear covered a mile in 1.51 2-5. Cupbearer beat Bell over half a mile in 51s. Variant did an easy three furlongs along the back. Marcus Cicero ran five furlongs in 1.4 2-5, Copenna traversing four in 52V£s. Silver Foil and Knowledge ran six furlongs in 1.21 2-5. Ranelngh and Cinders covered half a mile along the back in 535. Some Shambles traversed seven furlongs in 1.32 3-5. Silver Sight acconmanying him over the last six. Sky Rover beat Lady Zephyr over seven furlongs in 1.32 3-5. Liberate and the Skyquest filly ran half a mile in 535. Royal Sceptre, with the assistance of Quietly, ran six furlongs in 1.19 2-5. Silver Brier and Strong Light ran six furlongs in 1.18 2-5. Manetho covered a mile. Bright Shade going with him over the first half in 51 l-ss. Gay Robe beat Earthquake over five furlongs in 1.6. Cranford beat Golden Dart over six furlongs in 1.18 1-5. Royal Amphora ran five furlongs easily in 545. Metal Bird and Weatherly traversed six furlongs in 1.19. T. R. George has arrived from Blenheim with Miladi, Revision and Synagogue.
