BURIED UNDER ROCK.

QUARRY WORKER INJURED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TE KUITI, this day. While working in the PublV Works Department quarry at Aria yesterday afternoon, Arthur Moss, aged 51. received a serious injury. He was firing a charge of gelignite when a huge slip, containing thousands of yards of rock, was brought down unexpectedly by the concussion.

When extricated from the debris by his workmates, Mr. Moss was taken to Te Kuiti Hospital, arriving at a late hour. Examination disclosed a fractured right arm, a dislocated shoulder, fractured ribs, and several general bruises and abrasions. He suffered greatly from shock.

At noon to-day his 1 condition was reported as slightly improved.
