ROTORUA ROADS.
RECORD RAIN IN FEBRUARY. SERVICE CARS HAMPERED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, this day. So far February has been the wettest month experienced here for many years, nearly Tin of rain having been recorded. From 9 a.m. on Monday to 4 p.m. on Tuesday 2Jin fell, but no serious damage has been reported. Slips have come down on the Rotoiti-Rotorua reads and Taupo road, but traffic is not blocked. Wairoa-Rotorua service cars continued to run, and cars from Rotorua to Opotiki en route to Gisborne got through yesterday, although roads in the vicinity of Whakatane required careful negotiation. It was thought possible last night that it might be necessary to tranship passengers between Taneatua and Whakatane, taking them over the flooded stretch in carts and rejoining other cars oil the other side. Last evening the Waimana Gorgoroad was still clear and no serious Slips were reported.
