PICNIC.
A&A.RANA YACHT CLUB. Despite the absence of a large number of the club's boats at the Waitangi ceremony, the Akurana Yacht Club held a very successful picnic at JlacKenzies Bay iluring last -week-end. About 100 members and friends left the clubhouse at 10 a.m. in the club's boats. Among the visitors were Misses Mathieson and Brooking, of the Evans Bay Yacht Club. The glorious weather, with a cool north-east breeze, made the day a very enjoyable one. The sports programme resulted as follow :— Yacht's Dinghy Kace. — Pandora 1, Ngaru 2. Ladies' Dinghy Race.—Mrs. M. Smith (Ngaru) 1, Miss Smith (Xgaru) 2. Maori Canoe Kace. —Maybelle 1, Ngaru 2, Ariel 3. Single Ladies' 50 Yards Sprint.—Miss F. Willetts (Winifred) 1, Miss H. Willotts (Winifred) 2. Married Ladies' 50 Yards Sprint.—Mrs. Hough (Winifred) 1, Mrs. lidgard (Ariel) o. Single Men's 75 Yards Race.—R. Talbot (Winifred) 1, C. Powell (Winifred), 2. Three-legged Race (lady and gent).— Miss F. Willetts and B. Vickerman (Winifred) 1, Miss Dallcn and C. Powell (Winifred) 2. Walking Kace.— J. Skelton (Ariel) 1. Winifred won the sports cup.
