BISHOP SADLIER.
WARM TRIBUTES IN NELSON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NELSON, Wednesday. The Bishop of Nelson, Bishop Sadlier, New Zealand president of the Church Missionary Society, who has retired and is leaving for England shortly, was farewelled at a large and most enthusiastic gathering last evening. Tributes were paid to Bishop SadHer's work in connection with the establishment'of the Board of Missions and the Church Missionary Society generally. During the evening Archdeacon Dart mentioned that, in a large measure, the ■work of the Church Missionary Society was l-esponsible for the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, and, on his suggestion, and in v : ew of the celebrations at Waitangi, the gathering rose, and sang the National Anthem.
