SURF LIFE-SAVING.
The programme for the national surf life-saving championships has been received by Mr. llassall Sidford, secretary to the Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Surf Life-Saving Association. The contests, which will be held on Takapnna lieach on February 24 and 25, will be held in Auckland for the first time since before the war. Teams will be competing from as far afield as St. Clair, Dunedin, as well as from Wellington and Taranaki.
New conditions have been made for the William Henry Memorial trophy, previously for four-men teams. This will now be for junior six-men teams, under IS years.
The programme/ will be: — (Saturday, February 24.—1 p.m., officials' conference; 1.80 p.m., march past display; 2.30 p.m.. heats of bellman's championship : 4 p.m., junior surf race; 4.3H p.m., final of beltinnn's championship : 7.H0 p.m.. conference of district association delegates.
Sunday. February 25; 10 a.m., William Henry Memorial trophy, junior surf championship of Now Zealand; 11 a.m., teams surf race, senior: I..'{() p.m., march past display: 2 p.m., Nelson Shield; 4.30 p.m., senior surf race.
