During the week-end at Papakura a very successful bowling tournev was run by the railwaymen of the Auckland district. It was organised by Mr. Alec Hammond, of Papakura, and its success is a tribute to the attention that he gave to details. This is the second tourney; last year there were 12 rinks and this year 16. It is now the intention to run an annual gathering. The standard of play,was very high, and the section winners were A. Hammond (Papnknru) and Leeden (Frankton). In the play-off there was a keen struggle, and on the last head Hammond started two up. Ho lay two when Leeden drove and finished three on the kitty, thereby winning the tourney. ANNIVERSARY. DAY TOURNEY. On Anniversary Day the West End Bowling Club held its annual tournament for the Uardley Memorial Cup, fifteen teams competing. The rinks in the liual were : — Winners : J.
