j PICTURE-PUZZLE ARRANGED FOR NEXT WEEK,

Dear Boys and Girls,—— The huge pile of entries that confronted the judges this week testified to the popularity of the Jumbled Names of Flowers competition which was conducted in the Budget a fortnight ago. The puzzle was not an easy one to solve, yet the work contributed was of a high standard. Kalosanthes, which was No. 13 on the list, proved a stumbling block for many, whilst tradescantia (No. 20) gave the majority j. food for thought and was responsible for many blanks in the competition lists. From the.scores of entries received, forty contained the entirely correct solution, whilst a like number of contributors made only one mistake In accordance with the announcement, the riddles were taken into consideration to decide the order of prize and certificate winners. Generally speaking the riddles were not particularly good, although an exception was provided in tire effort of Cpralie Blackwell, who won the fir it prize. Enid Paris, who received second award, also contributed a good conundrum, the work of Norman Reeve and Thomas Edwards being quite fair. Picture puzzles are always popular and to-day one has been arranged that is slightly different from any we have had before. In the picture printed elsewhere on this page appear a large number of objects that begin with the letters "B" or —ij"T." It will be an easy matter for Jp£2 — Budgetites to discover these and list Slj I them in alphabetical order.
