THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL

The (rOvernor-Genbral, Lord Bledisloe, and Lady Bledisloe, will leave to-morrow morning on the Government steamer Matai, en route to the Bay of Islands to attend the Waitangi celebrations. Calls at a number of lighthouses will be made to-morrow and on Friday, and on Friday evening the Matai will put into Kawau, where the Royal Xew Zealand Yacht Squadron will hold its annual week-end carnival. The Matai will sail at noon on Saturday for Russell.

Among the overseas visitors who were the guests of their Excellencies at dinner last evening at Government House were the Hon. Y. IT. Stewart, Minister of Oonunerce in the Federal Government of Australia, and the Hon. R. W. D. Weaver, Minister of Works and Health, in the Xew South Wales Cabinet. They will represent their respective Governments at the Waitangi ceremony. Mrs. Stewart and Miss Stewart were also present.
